Our stay at Hilton Grand Vacations Club Las Palmeras Orlando was very much a case of excellent accommodations paired with a more mixed overall resort experience.
The room itself was the clear standout – and for a multi-generational trip, it truly delivered. The layout was thoughtfully designed with a full kitchen, spacious living room, private balcony, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and even in-unit laundry, which made sharing the space across three generations feel easy and comfortable rather than crowded. Everything felt modern, clean, and well-equipped, from the kitchen setup to the bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable, and we experienced no external noise, which made it a restful place to recharge after busy days. From a “home base” perspective, it checked every box.
The resort, however, told a slightly different story. While functional, the overall feel of the property was more dated and less vibrant than the rooms themselves. Visiting during the off-season – and during a cold front – likely contributed to the atmosphere, but it was notably quiet. In fact, we rarely saw other families during our stay, with most guests appearing to be business or conference travelers. While that meant no crowds, it also made the resort feel a bit lacking in energy for a family-focused trip.
The pool area had potential, but with the colder weather, we were often the only family there, and the waterslide was closed, limiting the experience for younger travelers. Drinks from the lobby bar were another downside – expensive and underwhelming, which led us to skip on-site dining and opt for off-property options instead.
Location-wise, this is an important consideration. We would not recommend this property for a Disney-focused vacation, as the drive – especially with Orlando traffic – can be longer and more frustrating than expected. However, it’s an excellent option for visits centered around Universal or SeaWorld, both of which are a quick and easy Uber ride away. And if your plan is to spend most of your time at the parks, having such a comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed room to return to becomes the most important factor – and this property absolutely excels in that regard.
Overall, this is a strong choice for families prioritizing space, comfort, and functionality, with the understanding that the broader resort experience may feel quieter and less resort-like than others in the area.
